Biography

Norman A. Duncan 85 a long time resident of Canaan,N.Y. died Saturday peacefully with family at his side at Whittier Nursing Home. Mr. Duncan born July 19,1925 in New Milford ,Ct. is the son of the late Arthur and Florence (Peet) Duncan. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy from 1943 – 1946 attaining rank of Pharmacist’s Mate 3rd Class. He moved to Canaan in 1962 coming from New Milford, Ct. and for 10 years he lived in Florida only to come back to the area 1 year ago. For many years Mr. Duncan was in the sewing machine sales and service for Companies as well as a business owner. He was Past Commander of the Canaan V.F.W. He was predeceased by his wife Blanche Duncan 1995. Mr. Duncan is survived by 3 Daughters, Karen Lappi of Altoona, Fl. Debra Duncan of Fort Meyers, Fl. Cheryl Dunton of Canaan, N.Y. Brother George Peet and Sister Beatrice Smith both of New Milford, Ct. Grandchildren Jamie and Chrissy Dunton, Duncan Metts and Mahala Loring. Survived also by many Nieces and Nephews. A time of gathering for family and friends will be held Friday November 18 from 5- 7pm from the Wenk Funeral Home Chatham. Inurnment will be in the Flatbrook Cemetery with military honors.
