Glenn A. Goodwin Sr. 79 of Chatham, N. Y. died Friday at his residence. Mr. Goodwin born March 23,1933 in Goodwin Mills, Maine is the son of the late Benjamin and Mollie (Burleigh) Goodwin. Mr. Goodwin started his long time career in dairy farming in Maine and in 1957 – 1968 He owned and operated Butternut Brook Farm in Litchfield and Bethlehem Ct. then moved to Claverack, N. Y. and West Sand Lake,N.Y. before coming to Chatham in 1978 where he and family operated Dun Movin Farm. He also started Goodwin Mills “wood shavings supplier to the world” which he operated until his retirement in 2008. Mr. Goodwin was avid Red Sox fan as well as a Avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by 2 sons Glenn A.Goodwin Jr. and his wife Patty of Kinderhook, N. Y. Michael Goodwin and wife Anne of Laurens, N.Y. Daughters Elaine Mackey and husband Tom of Kinderhook, N.Y. Cathy Goodwin of Chatham, Karen Southard and husband Bryan of Kinderhook. Brother of Clinton Goodwin of Maine, Leo and Linwood Goodwin of Goodwin Mills,Me. Ruth Flewelling of Crouseville, Me. Survived also by 12 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. He was Predeceased by his wife Rae Goodwin and 3 Brothers and 1 Sister. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday 2:00pm from the Advent Christian Church and Interment service will follow in the Goodwin Mills Cemetery.
